Born in Tokyo and raised in the United States, Toshiki immigrated at an early age and grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, where he attended school through university. There, he studied art and cinema, laying the foundation for a creative practice rooted in visual storytelling and experimentation.
Following graduation, Toshiki lived and worked across Europe, Texas, and New York, exploring a range of creative disciplines along the way. These experiences ultimately led him back to filmmaking, where his varied influences began to coalesce into a focused directorial voice.
Since 2020, Toshiki has been based in Tokyo, Japan, working as a film director and writer. His work spans commercials, branded content, music videos, and short films, balancing structure with intuition and a curiosity-driven approach.
Alongside client work, Toshiki is currently focused on developing longer-form projects, while continuing to create short-form vignettes whenever inspiration strikes. Across formats and geographies, his work reflects a consistent sensitivity to culture, movement, and storytelling.
