In May 2026, Aminé returned to his hometown of Portland, Oregon, to revisit a formative piece of his childhood: MESD Outdoor School at YMCA Camp Collins.

A week-long unconventional classroom, Outdoor School takes Oregon middle-schoolers out of their desks and into the woods, where lessons in nature become formative lessons in growing up. For many Oregonians, it’s a rite of passage; a week of muddy shoes, camp songs, new friends, and memories that linger long after they’re back behind a desk.

Together, Aminé and New Balance return to the woods of Oregon, celebrating the people and experiences that shaped his hometown roots, and a tradition that continues to shape generations of Oregonians.
